If you are itchin' to get stitchin'

Hey guys, its Becky. If you are half as excited about this as I am, then you are rearing to go at it right now. And this month has been emotionally hard in my little corner of the world...so I am looking forward to something happy.
Been thinkin' bout what I would love...and what I've seen by reading blogs about quilting.
So here goes.
I would love to see what is in y'alls heads...
All I ask is that the finished square be 12 and a half inches by 12 and a half inches.
And in red and aqua.
(A color combo I have only experimented with in a purse so far but seen some BEAUTIFUL stuff out there in Blogland.)
Any pattern goes.
How does that work for you all?
Can't wait to see what you come up with and then to put together a quilt made from them all! Looking forward to it!
Thanks ahead of time!
Becky
PS Thanks Melissa for the surprise in the mail! Love scraps and unexpected blessings!

Becky, would you care to share a link or two to some of the quilts you adore in the red/aqua fabrics? I've seen lots of beatuies to, but just wanted to get more of a feel for what you might like...

How about a D9P block, that's easy?

Any block of your choice works for me. Will give it almost a sampler look when made. I will love it...guaranteed!

Okay so your up for any block as long as its twelve and half by twelve and half inches and aqua and red. Are there any bloks that you absolutely do not like? I'm assuming that the fabric should 100% cotton and quilt shop quality too?

I don't object to any kind of block. So it really is a chance to just be creative and do whatever you would like to do. I posted another post with color inspiration if that helps. ANd I am not picky when it comes to fabric. If you can pull from your stash, that would be great...cause then I won't be putting you out. And please don't feel as if you have to go buy $9 a yard fabric for me. Anything cotton will work. If we could stick to cotton so it will wash similarly that would be ideal. But you don't have to go run out to your local quilt store and spend a fortune to make a block. I plan on making myself a block when making ones for you all and putting something together then too...to remind me of the fun we are having with this group. Please don't let it be stressful...just fun. I promise I will like anything b/c it was made for me. I am sentimental like that. Does that help?

I'm totally sentimental, too! And nostalgic, lol. I'm loving your color combos! I think you hit the nail on the head... the read is exciting while the aqua is soothing/comforting. What beautiful color combo! I can't wait to see what types of blocks you get! And sorry if mine ends up being simple...this will be the first quilting I've ever done. But I will have Christy's guidance so it will still look nice, I promise!

I don't have a lot of fabrics/scraps to pull from, but for me half the fun will be going to the store to find fabrics for everyone. And then I can see all the wonderful patterns out there & hopefully become inspired (since I still don't have a clue what I want for my own quilt). And what a fabulous idea to make an extra block for yourself every month! I might have to steal that idea! :)

>_< I meant "red" not "read" lol. That's what I get for trying to type late when I should be in bed!

Hope you all are having a great week!
