May Is Almost Here........... Look For Your Package In The Mail!

Hi Dozen Quilter’s,

I am so excited that my month has finally come around. I know now what those of you have felt like, when it was your turn! My block will “Not” need a sewing machine to make it. To get started you will need a qt. mason jar or pitcher. Fill it with cold water. I will have your teabag in your package, to make your tea. Fill a large glass with ice and pour tea into glass. Now you will need your kit, a needle/white thread, scissors, and a comfy chair. Open kit and enjoy your time “stitchin”. All the instructions will be in your kit.

Today I will be sending out your packages. If you do not receive one.......... please let me know. I have had things lost in the mail before!!!!!! Enjoy sweet Dozen Quilter’s! You are the best!!!!

Blessings, Linda

Finally, a Star for Kim

I'll get this in the mail today. Sorry for waiting till the last minute.
I've been a bit under the weather this month and had a heart cath yesterday. While we were in the "big" city having tests done, my hubby stopped in at Joann's and picked out this fabric for this star. I think he did pretty good.
I hope you enjoy it and can't wait to see the finished quilt.

Shoo Fly Blocks for Jenny- FINALLY

Sorry it took me so long Jenny but here are your Shoo Fly Blocks. I was able to get five 6 inch blocks for you with the fabric you sent. I have never worked with solids before but I thought these came out really cute and can't wait to see how your quilt looks! I will mail these in the morning along with a little something extra to make up for my lateness. Now on to Kim's Star.

Have a great weekend everyone- It has been raining like crazy here, which is nice because I can get caught up sewing instead of yard work.

Marie

I am a Star now

Finally looks like it should have in the first place.
A little frayed around the edges now from all the extra work.
But actually makes a star shape now.
Hope you like it!

Kim's Star

We're on Spring Break this week, so I'm catching up. Kim, here are two versions of the No Name Star, I can't make up my mind which one I like better, so I'm sending  both. Maybe you can make a pillow with one, if you can't use it in the quilt. I really like this block and will most likely make a quilt with it .

They are on the way to you.

Finally Jenny You have Your Blocks

They will go out in the mail tomorrow, along with a little something extra. I'm sorry, life happened, and I don't really have a better excuse. I like this block,  I think I'll make another, but a larger version. Again, thanks for being so patient.

A Decision at Last

I've been playing around with my dozen blocks trying to decide how to set them.  This is what I finally settled on.  It is going to be colorful to say the least.

Jenny, here are your flying geese for your quilt!

Hi Jenny, I have a few more to finish up and they will go out tomorrow! I have always enjoyed the flying geese pattern. You are going to have so much fun putting your quilt together. Can't wait to see what it looks like!

Also ladies I have a free download called Spring Thyme Stitchery Block (red work) that I put up on my blog this last Monday, April 12. There will be 3 more that will go up in the coming months. Then I will put up a quilt pattern in the month of November so you can have a wall hanging by winter. Please come by and download a copy if you would like!

Prairie Flower Farm is one year old. Can't believe it!!!!!

I'm finally caught up!

Here are Jenny's flying geese and Kim's star!

Jenny, I had so much fun making flying geese with the tutorial you listed! There are 16 finished in the package coming to you and there are 4 more 1/2 finished... I ran out of fabric but I sent them to you in case you have enough to finish them!
Kim, I finished your star as well and it will go in the mail tomorrow as long as you like the colors. I love this star pattern, we used it a couple of years ago for stars in red, white and blue for some quilts we made for soldiers coming home. I want to make another throw using it I think!
Blessings,
Gayly

Are you interested in a little challenge?

Our small community has a big celebration every 5 years when everyone comes back and they have an all school reunion the last weekend of May. This year, our little quilt group is hosting a quilt show and a Quilters Challenge! The theme this year is "Pages from the Ages." The group selected 5 fabrics that represent different periods in history and has put together a small kit with 6" squares. The challenge is to create a quilted item no larger than 18"x18" using a minimum of 1" of 4 of the 5 fabrics!

Anyone up to the challenge? The projects must arrive here by May 22 and will be displayed at the quilt show. There will be "People's Choice" prizes for the top 3 challenge projects.

Email me at quiltnmama2@gmail.com or leave a comment and I'll get in touch with you and send you a kit:)

Blessings,
Gayly

Hi Kim. Here are your blocks. Christy and I made them together today. Hope you like them. We really had trouble keeping to just two colors. Makes a really subtle star.

question for Kim

Kim, I can't beleive I dont have any fabrics that are aqua/turquoise and brown!!  Well maybe this one...but I wanted to show you what I pulled from my stash to work with.  I know that getting the colors right is important, please let me know if these work, and if they do, which you prefer...I don't mind a quick trip to the fabric store, really...

A Nameless Star for Kim

Hi Guys! I'm so excited for my month! <3

The block I chose is one that Christy found for me way back in month #1! It is "No Name Star" and can be found here....

http://delawarequilts.com/BOMs/NoNameStar/index.html

For fabrics I'm wanting turquoise/aqua and brown prints. I really love geometrical patterns, but buroque and damask patterns are good too! Also please try to stick to only the turquoise/aqua/browns (i.e. no cream or other colored backgrounds on the prints, no other shades of blue, and I really like medium "chocolate" browns, please! :) ). I don't mind if you use a solid/print of just one of the colors if you can't find fabric that has both the turquoise/aqua and brown together.

Getting the right colors is the main thing I  care about! Just have fun &  be creative. The pictures are examples of colors/prints I like!

I think I'm going to end up with a great quilt thanks to all of you!

Big thanks to Melissa for helping me figure out placing the pictures! You are awesome!
