Another Flower for your Garden Linda

Hi Linda,
Got your block done just in time! I will mail with Melissa's block tomorrow. Wow! Doing this block really makes you realize how much work has gone into many of the old quilts we see today. I have never done a block like this before so I hope it looks okay Linda! My little boy kept jumping up on my lap tonight while I was working on it so there are some crooked stitches- Ha Ha!
I will be getting the June Block up late tomorrow afternoon- So be sure to check back tomorrow!
Hope everyone had a great memorial day! Special thanks to all of our troops and veterans!
Marie

It's Still May!

And I finished. Just in time . . . Linda it's mostly flat. A little lumpy here and there. You're going for the handmade look right? I've never done anything like this before but Marie and I will mail them together. Maybe tomorrow?

This and That

Hi girls. I'm having a contest on my blog right now called Trimmed with Love. Basically you can enter anything you've added trim to -- ric rac, eyelet, etc etc etc. Lots of awesome prizes too!
In other news, I was wondering who wants to continue this group for another year? I understand (believe me I understand) if anyone is too busy. I think I would enjoy another time though. If you want, you can privately e-mail me. I believe we started in September last year, so it's probably time to think about it.

Also, would you like to change it up any way? I know sometimes people start with their own center square and then the quilt is passed to a different person each month who will add a border until the quilt is finished. There can be different border themes each month. Tell me what you think.

And in one personal side note, I plan to sign a contract with a fabric company this week to design fabric for them. (squeal) It's a dream for me and I can't believe it's really happening.

Take care!
Love, Melissa

Little Bit of Grandma's Garden for Linda

Linda, thank you for getting me back into hand sewing again, it's been a long time. I so enjoyed working on this little block, and can't wait to see the finished quilt.  I have always admired the Grandmother's Garden Block, but have been a bit intimidated to start one, but no more.  I will be heading down to the Post Office shortly and it will be on it's way to you soon.

Enjoy your weekend, ladies.

What happens......

if I've lost my May block?

Oh my gosh....I'm so in trouble.

I finally got last month's block in the mail today, I'm so super sorry!

I blogged about it on my blog, I had some pretty serious heart issues in April and half of May.

I'm all better now and ready to get back on track.

Now, I just have to find that darn May block. I will..........

It isn't by chance still April is it?

Wow, where has the time gone this last 2 months have been very busy and of course I am very behind so here at last is Kim's Star. Kim, I really liked this pattern and the block went together really fast. I think the brown/turquoise color combination look great together. I am a big fan of turquoise myself. I will mail the block out in the morning along with some extra fabric for your stash. Linda, I am hoping to get your block done by the end of the month- it looks like a fun project.

Take care everyone,
Marie

For some reason I cannot get the photo up- I will work on that

another flower in the garden...

Linda,
I hope you like your block. I was a bit intimidated when I got your package and realized that it was all handwork. But a new love I have found! As a child, I have beautiful memories of playing under quilts that the ladies of my church were quilting by hand to send to far away places to people in great need. It was under those hand quilted quilts with Godly women around us girls that God really planted the seed in my heart to love other and see their needs... it was there that the desire to serve my Lord started and my heart for missions and people grew. I have stitched this block the last few days while helping my sweet friend, Marsha, in her home, loving on our children and having quiet moments with my fabric, needle and cup of tea and the Lord! It was what I needed more than anything! Thank you! I have decided that I need to start one for myself that I can work on in quiet moments where ever I am! I can't wait to see your pattern!
And I would love to know where you get your pre-cuts... I'd like to get a few more:)
Blessings friend,
gayly

ps... I hope my hand quilting was ok... I have never done it before:) I watched for hours as a child though and I have been wanting to learn so this was a good start:)

Linda's Square

Thank you so much Linda for providing the fabric and direction for this month's square! I had a lot of fun with this (my first time with hexagons) and it went surprisingly fast! I'm looking forward to getting the pattern (thanks once again Linda!!)

Kim, You Star Is On It's Way!

Hi Kim, I have your "Star" quilt block done! I wish I would have used a little bit darker color for the main part of the star, but I do think it turned out to be a real soft block. I enjoyed your pic for a block. Your quilt is going to be very pretty, as I look at the other blocks! Enjoy! I will get it off today. You should have it tomorrow. So sorry I am late! : (

Blessings,

Linda

P.S. Not sure why the picture of a block always looks a different shape, then what it really is. Smile! It really is a square.
