Introducing Jenny

Where do you live?
The gorgeous Texas Hill Country.

Do you have any hidden talents?
I can stand on an inner tube in the water! Hahaha! Okay that's just silly.

Name two things you consider yourself to be very good at.
Sewing and cooking.

Name two things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
HANDWRITING! Golly you should see my handwriting. Causes most people to gasp. Hmmm my husband would say organization but it's not that I am bad at it, I just don't have enough time in the day to take care of everything. Taking care of 4 people on 4 different schedules in 4 different locations(schools, work, and me at home) is so time consuming.  Hmmmm, Oh I know! Being patient. Lord you didn't just hear that! I don't need any more lessons in patience thank you very much! =D

Do you have any siblings? What are they like?
Kelly who does something taxish for Exxon. I don't really know! She is a lot of fun and takes us on great vacations. She also sews but not often she spends her weekends gardening and running.

Kim who works for a bank in the businessish realm doing something bankish. Don't really understand what she does either! She does not sew but has dabbled in creative endeavors here and there. She is really sweet and so so kind to my family.
Love them both!

Have you ever won a trophy?
I think a softball trophy. We went to state or something. I played in the outfield so the details are sketchy at best!

Name one thing that not many people know about you.
I dance and sing when I sew. =O

What is your earliest memory?
Playing endlessly with my neighbor who was a year and a half older than me. It was so awful when she went to Kindergarten. I would wait and wait all day for her to come home. Then I would help her with her homework so we could go outside and play.

What was your favorite musical group when you were in Junior High?
Giggling... I loved/love schmaltzy love songs. Neil Diamond and Lionel Richie! First concerts ever, parental units in tow. Okay so stop laughing already!!!

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A wife and a mommy.

What are you passionate about?
My faith, my children and their education, my husband, serving in my community, sewing and chocolate.

Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Jesus of course. Then my husband.

What outdoor activities do you like to do?
Swimming, walking, running and riding bikes with my kids.

If your house was on fire and you could grab only 3 things before leaving, what would they be?
My son, my daughter and my husband. I can replace everything else. But golly I would cry at all the fabric being lost! Gasp!

Which is your most favorite place on this earth?
Where ever my family is at the moment. No place is special without them.

This is so sweet, Jenny! Boy do I agree with you on the organization too. My husband would also say I need help in that department, but truly, it's hard to keep track of everybody. Lionel Richie was one of my favs when I was 7! I sang Hello constantly with the help of my Walkman. Is the Texas Hill Country near Houston? I'll be there next month, you know.

Nice to "meet" you...don't feel bad about the organization. I'm neat except for my bedroom...lots of stuff on the floor. My dad teases me that if it's not on the floor, I can't find it. That's not completely true...but I do try to be neater :) :) :) My first concert was Petra...and Newsboys were opening up for them. That was in the early 90s..Have a lovely week. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Yes, do tell, where is the Texas Hill Country. I don't know much about Texas except that it's a BIG state! I've been there a couple of times, but only for short visits.

You all are funny! I am even funnier! I am scared to say WHERE in the Hill Country I live, not in the least scared of you just of those random weirdo lurkers that probably aren't even reading this! Paranoid I know! But I can tell you the Texas Hill Country covers a HUGE area. It includes Llano, Austin, New Braunfels, San Antonio, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Wimberley, Bandera, Helotes...well those are probably the the more common cities you hear about in magazines and such. It's starts kind of in the middle of the state and goes south and westward. Sort of. Okay, no kidding I am a geographer and I am just wanted to slap a map on this post and put a big polygon around the hill country! But technology won't allow. I do hope that helps! Gayly I have not heard of that race, but I just looked it up. That will be a pretty run and shouldn't be too hilly. I am sure you will have some inclines and such but it runs along the river. Where I live all I have are hills hills hills to train on. Makes for interesting long runs! If I were trained up I would consider going. But I am just getting started running...again. Make sure you go to Quilt Haus. I sewed most of the children's clothing samples(not all)in there. Mention my blog and me. They know me and think it is just a hoot when someone walks in 'off the street' and starts saying the read my blog. They ALWAYS tell me about it! And blogging isn't really their thing, so its really exotic or something not sure, but they get excited. Quilt Haus is located on the I35 access road in an old defunct outlet shopping center. Heather, my daughter looooves the Newsboys. I like them a lot too but it's so funny to have a 4 year old telling you to "Turn it up!" every time the Newsboys come on the radio!" The Stars of Christian music were Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant when I was a kid. They were just getting started themselves. I am old! And it's really my sewing area that remains a mess that makes him crazy. I have a study off my bedroom and that is my 'studio'. Fabric tends to spill out of it onto the floor, the bed, the chair...you get the idea! And I leave things out because then I can come back and pick up where I left off. But that is sometimes a week or so! And of course I don't work on just one thing, oh no no no! I have to have multiple unfinished projects out along with fabric I have pulled out for inspiration. I can see how that would be annoying if you weren't the passionate sewist!
Melissa if I ever get my act together and get my tax id I plan to go to Houston for the show. I have got to figure out who is going to fill my shoes at home so I can make it happen, but that is my plan. I assume you have to have a tax id to get in right? I won't be buying but I plan to start doing something at some point. Gosh I just wrote a novel! Well hopefully some of you will see my response! Sorry for any errors. Kids keep coming in and out.
