February’s Block

I’ve waffled back and forth on a couple of blocks and contemplated another two or three.  But in the end I’ve decided to go with my original choice…  Wonky Log Cabin.

There are several variations a person could choose from, and you can find tutorials for some of them
here, here, here, and here.

My particular favorite from that list is the wonky squares-in-squares block, such as the one
in the third picture here
(by the way, I adore the prints and color combinations in that block – hint, hint ;).

But please feel free to be creative and choose the Wonky Log Cabin style that appeals to you.

Now, I don’t know about you gals, but I am very ready for spring.  So let’s make our blocks in happy spring-time colors.
My only a stipulations are:
no pastels, no calicoes, and no solids.

My fabric tastes run along the same lines as those
that Christy requested:
Anna Maria Horner, Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, plus Dena Designs, Jenean Morrison, and such.
You don’t have to purchase fabrics by these particular designers, just use them as examples when making your selections.

Your finished block should measure 12-1/2” square.  My plan is to add a 3-1/2” white-on-white frame to each block so that it finishes 15-1/2”.

This is an easy peasy block, so just have fun with it
and let your creative juices flow.
I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

And I want you to know up front how truly, truly grateful I am to each of you for the time and effort and creativity that you will be putting into the block you make for me!!
Time is such a precious commodity and not to be taken for granted, so you can count on your accomplishment to be treasured and oh so greatly appreciated.

Happy creating :-)

Iva

I've never made a block like this, but I'm excited now and ready to start on it.

Did anyone notice that this is already the 100th post? Craziness...
Just out of curiosity, what are spring colors and are there any that you hate?
