I made this for a bigger girl, and then only I could model it! But it can easily go long for an older child. I used my new Denyse Schmidt fabric from JoAnns. After purchsing it, I realized it really wasn't my style, but it looks pretty cute on this dress. My husband says, "It needs a belt." smile
Okay, here's the update: I used this tutorial: https://www.fabshophop.com/downloads/pillowcaseDress_chop1.pdf, using the 8" arm hole measurements and leaving the full length, in other words 36 inches plus the four inches added onto the bottom. It says to use 36" of ribbon, cut in half, and I used 36" of ribbon not cut thinking that the bow wouldn't take that much, but a little extra would have been nice, like maybe 42 - 45".

Melissa - could you post the fabric measurements, and depth of armhole cut? I, too would make some for older girls, but the largest pattern I have is a child's 7/8. And it's cute without a belt, too!
Here you go Patty. All updated!
thanks for the pattern melissa! i have some lovely, vintage, CLEAN pillow cases i am gong to use, but my machine required some TLC and i had to take it in for service...since im using pillow cases, do you think i could do the stitching by hand?
Thanks! I'll get right on it:D
