Patty's Block and Walker Bag

This is my block for Patty. I think you're going to have a beautiful quilt!
Also this is the walker bag Patty made. I'm going to donate these next week. I have received bags from Christy, Marie and Patty and also heard from a few of you that you would donate locally. I assume everyone else found a local recipient as well.

Finally, this month ends a Dozen Quilters for the year. I feel like maybe we should call it quits. It seems like participation has been pretty low. Furthermore, there are many other charity bees out there to join. Your thoughts?

Well, Melissa, it's been a fun year for me, but I will go along with whatever the group decides.
I probably won't join another group, as I already do Comforts for Kids in the Spring, Pillowcase dresses in the summer, Breast Cancer Awareness quilt this time of year, and Christmas Stockings for FireHouse Toy Drive in December.
But I have really enjoyed the different projects we have done this year! Hope to see you and Marie soon!

It's been a fun two years but I'm ready to call it quits. I'm co-president in my guild and do a lot of charity works through that. I've enjoyed all the projects and wish every one well. Thank you Melissa for hosting this venture.

wow melissa, your blog is gorgeous! its gonna be a lovely quilt patty!

i agree, participation seems to have been low. wonder how bees keep everyone motivated? i know last year we lost a few along the way as well. i wouldn't mind staying in a bee...but maybe back to bee blocks? honestly, i just hate saying NO. so ill do what the group decides. thanks Melissa!

Hi Ladies,

I've had some major health issues lately so I am a bit behind on projects but I will catch up soon I hope. As far as continuing with A Dozen Quilters, I am afraid I'm going to have to say no. I've stretched myself a little too thin so I am giving up some commitments. If you are still looking for a way to be involved in a virtual charity bee, you may want to look in to do. Good Stitches {A Charity Bee} on flickr. Hollie and I are in the Hope group together and new groups are starting up almost every month. They are always in need of quilters (role of quilter defined on the main page: http://www.flickr.com/groups/dogoodstitches/)

Also, I am doing a charity block drive through my blog. If any of you have time to make a block or two I'd really appreciate it. More details can be found on my blog: http://www.threadedmess.com/2011/07/rainbow-i-spy-block-drive.html

It's been really fun working on a different charity project with you all each month. I hope to see you all around!

Happy Quilting!
