Christy's Quilt

Inspiration Fabric !!!!

*************************************

The Pattern

Jack in the Box

The pattern I have chosen is Jack in the Box.

At the very top are some fabrics that I love. I would like the quilt to be made of 1960-1970's reproduction fabric (Amy Butler, Valori Wells, Heather Bailey, Tina Givens, etc. ) I love pink and orange. The browns, yellow, green, and turquise also very cute. I like bold patterns and bright colors (nothing cartoon like). Have fun! can't wait to see what you come up with.

Instructions:

You will need 2 colors of fabric: one light ( preferably a white on white print) and one dark (something like the fabrics shown above.)

Cut 8 squares from the dark fabric measuring 3 7/8 and

Cut 8 squares from the light fabric measuring 3 7/8

Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the back of the light squares. Place the light and dark squares right sides together. Sew 1/4 inch on both sides of the drawn line. Press both halves of each block open. Cut apart on the drawn line. You now have 16 half square triangles, measuring 3 1/2 each.

Use pictures at the top as a reference for the layout. Happy Quilting!!!

Oh Christy! Great colors! I'm so happy to work with such cheerful fabrics in the winter.

I forgot to mention that the finished block size will be 12 1/2 inches.

Love your fabric choices! These are some of my favorites as well; and since those that I have are already committed to a WIP, that means a trip to one of my favorite quilt stores. Oh well, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make just for you, Christy :D
