Next Year?

Hello ladies. Just a quick post to give everyone a status update for next year, which starts in October. At this time, three ladies have decided to not continue along with us. Furthermore, a few others have asked me about changing the group.

I had a suggestion that each month the person in charge picks a project to do for charity. It would be something small like a quilt block or pillowcase. In addition, others besides our group could follow along and show their creation through a linky tool. Does anyone else think this is a good idea? I know I did as I am up to my ears in quilts.

Or we could leave it the same. We need to find 3 more people in that case.

Or we can disband. As harsh as that sounds, I know people have extremely busy schedules (yours truly included.)

My vote is the first suggestion, but you let me know yours.

Love, Melissa

I don't know if I'm one of the 3 mentioned that has decided not to continue next year, but that is where my vote lies. I learned alot this year, but it seemed like I didn't have time to get the blocks done within the month (I'm a slow sewer anyway, ask Christy!!). So I think would be better to let someone else take my place. I will be sure to follow along with whatever you wonderful ladies do decide to do!

I vote for the project for charity. Although, I had lots of trouble with my 1/4" seam allowances, they are so much better now. Thanks to Melissa!

I've loved making quilt squares! At this time, however, I am planning to focus more toward my knitting. Go Ravelry.com!

I'm already up to my elbows in pillowcases for CASA kiddos, so not too inclined to go that route. Should we continue with the same format, or something like it, I may have at least one other person who would join.

I would love to continue, whatever you choose for us to do, I am ok with:)

I finally feel like I am getting caught up a bit though my sewing machine still isn't unpacked from the move! The kids rooms are settled, we are working at getting back into the flow of school, our exchange student from Armenia has arrived and is getting settled in school, etc. so hopefully I will be sewing soon. My goal is to unpack sewing this weekend and get my August block done- sorry I am running late this month.
Blessings,
