Here is Melissa's block- Very fast and easy block to do. Thanks for the great directions Melissa. I wasn't very tired tonight so I wanted to get this done. Betcha can't believe that I have something done early- Ha Ha!
Just wanted to add my 2 cents about the 1/4 seams- I have a 1/4" foot for my sewing machine- Works great!! I am also in a quilt group that gets together once a month and my teacher is always double checking and making me rip things out if they don't come out just right. I really hate ripping but glad she makes me do it right, the blocks just look so much better that way! I have learned alot about measuring and taking my time at the sewing machine and my projects always look alot better too!
Happy 4th of July everyone!!

I LOVE it Marie. I hadn't made it up out of this fabric yet, but it looks just beautiful. Glad the instructions were correct. :)
Neat looking block, Marie.
I have a 1/4" foot too, and it makes all the difference. I also have a plastic tool that help me measures my seams, and that helps too. I'm the queen of ripping out, my mother and my sister who are much better quilters than I, have always insisted that I take the time and rip out, they say "you'll be much happier when it's right.'
My mother gave me a tip too, she says "Don't watch your needle, it only goes up and down, keep an eye on where your fabric is going." Hope this helps.
I had a teacher like that in high school home ec...would make me rip stuff out if it wasn't done right...that and being very particular about ironing. Those skills have serve me well, though...so know I really appreciate it. I love the colors in this quilt block. Red is my FAVORITE color and there's lots of it here :) :) Hugs from Oregon, Heather
